In a lengthy post on a Chinese social media platform, she said she was raped by the butler assigned to her room at the resort. So, the matter has been brought to the attention of the police as well as the Chinese Embassy in the city.

The Ritz-Carlton Resort is cooperating with the police investigation into the incident.

"We will also strengthen the internal policy to ensure that such an incident does not happen again," an official from the Ritz-Carlton resort's management told Miharu.

However, he did not say whether any action had been taken against the accused employee as the case was being investigated by the police.

Police said the victim was identified as K.S. A tourist was reportedly raped at a resort in the province on the 6th of this month.

"Police are taking samples for the investigation and questioning those who should be questioned," a police spokesperson said.

Police said no arrests have been made in the case.
