We're testing the first laptops powered by the Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus in our labs. The performance and efficiency of Qualcomm's new Arm-based CPUs are expected to be comparable to that of Apple's M-series chips. The greatest Windows laptops may become just as alluring as Apple's notebooks thanks to Snapdragon X CPUs, since the best MacBooks are currently the benchmark for power and durability.

Tom's Guide has evaluated a number of Snapdragon X laptops, including the HP Omnibook X, Microsoft Surface Pro 11, and Asus Vivobook S 15. Thus far, our testing has shown that the Snapdragon X Elite is on par with or better than Apple M CPUs. Additionally, they stay up with laptops equipped with Intel's AI-focused Meteor Lake CPUs. The findings of battery life are still awaited.
