Everything has its proper place and time. I have no trouble saying "hi" to Google, Alexa, Siri, Meta, and occasionally Bixby when I'm alone in my house. However, in public? Where am I visible to others? Better for me to burrow beneath a rock.

One of my main issues with AI devices over the past few months has been this. Like in the movie Her, they're all seemingly persuaded that speaking with AI helpers face-to-face is the most effective method to engage with them. As a matter of fact, I almost never witness my friends and family using the assistant on their phones when we're socializing in private or in public. Therefore, when Apple announced that during last week's WWDC presentation, it seemed like a little "Aha!" moment.
