At Google's recent early 2024 launch event, the company unveiled a comprehensive lineup of new devices. Among the highlights were the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro smartphones, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold foldable phone, and updated accessories including the Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2.
Pixel 9 Series: The Pixel 9, building on its predecessor, features a 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED display that's 35% brighter and is powered by the new Tensor G4 chip with 12GB of RAM. It includes a dual-camera system with enhanced sensors and autofocus for the front camera. The Pixel 9 Pro, available in two sizes, offers up to 1TB of storage, a 5x telephoto zoom, and support for 8K video recording. The larger Pixel 9 Pro XL mirrors the Pro's features but with a bigger display. Both models see a price increase, starting at $999 for the Pixel 9 Pro and $1,099 for the Pixel 9 Pro XL.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold: This latest foldable phone features a slimmer design with a larger 8-inch inner display and a 6.3-inch outer screen. It maintains high brightness and durability, with a similar camera setup to previous models but with slight improvements. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold starts at $1,799 for the 256GB model.
Pixel Watch 3: Now available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, the Pixel Watch 3 offers a 2x brighter display and new health features such as cardio load tracking and pulse detection. It maintains the same battery life as its predecessor but with improved low-power mode capabilities. Prices start at $350.
Pixel Buds Pro 2: These true wireless earbuds are now 27% smaller with improved active noise cancellation and call quality, thanks to the new Tensor A1 chip. They offer up to 12 hours of battery life and support for Google’s Find My Device network. They are priced at $229.
The new devices will ship starting in August and September, with pre-orders available now. Notably, there was no mention of Android 15, as the new Pixel devices will launch with Android 14.
