I had high hopes that the Oat Cleansing Balm from The Inkey List would remind me of the comforting scent of freshly baked oatmeal cookies. Instead, it has a more earthy aroma, reminiscent of raw oatmeal. It’s an acquired smell, but one I’m not too bothered by!

This balm is designed for a first cleanse, tackling all kinds of makeup, including stubborn waterproof formulas. What really drew me in was its wallet-friendly price—just $13 for a generous 5-ounce tube. For a quality product that doesn’t break the bank, you can’t go wrong!

I’ve been using it daily to remove my “work face,” which isn’t overly complex but does include long-wearing eye makeup like water-resistant mascara and gel liner. (P.S. Rare Beauty is my new go-to for eye products!) The Oat Cleansing Balm does a fantastic job of melting away everything, though I recommend using an additional eye makeup remover if you line your waterline. I’ve noticed a temporary cloudy effect with some balms, and this one is no exception.
